The Clinical Psychology PhD Program matriculates students only into the Fall Term each year. Applications are reviewed at regular intervals during the admissions cycle until the class is filled. For maximum consideration, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications and materials as early as possible. To initiate the application process, you must submit all of the following items to the Office of CHP Admissions.
Application Opens: September 1
Application Form: Submission of December 31
Supporting Materials: Receipt deadline of December 31
Interview Day: March 7, 2014
Acceptances: March - April 15
At the close of the application you will be required to submit a $50.00 payment through PayPal.
Bachelors degree is the minimum credential required for admission to this Ph.D. Degree program. Candidates must arrange the submission of official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. This includes community or junior colleges that may have been transferred to a 4-year university. Only transcripts bearing the official seal of the issuing institution, submitted in envelopes which have been signed/stamped and sealed by the institution’s Registrar will be accepted.
Applicants that are currently enrolled or plan on enrolling in courses prior to matriculation, if accepted, will need to complete the Current/Planned Coursework Form
Applicants who have completed coursework at a college or university outside of the U.S. must submit an official, course-by-course evaluation with degree equivalency for this work. This must be mailed directly to RFUMS from one of the following services:
World Education Services (WES)
Education Credential Evaluators (ECE)
Three letters of recommendation submitted by professors or supervisors under whom you have studied or worked are required. Letters of recommendation must be signed, placed in a sealed envelope, and have that person’s signature across the seal of the envelope. A recommendation form
has been provided for you; however, if the recommender chooses not to utilize our form, he/she must use the appropriate letterhead stationary and envelope of the agency or university for which he/she works or teaches.
Standard Test Scores
GRE Scores - Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
GRE Scores - Graduate Records Examination (GRE) General Test scores must be sent directly to the Office of IGPBS Admissions from the Educational Testing Services (ETS). Scores will be accepted for tests taken within the past five years. Send the scores to Institution Code: 1117. GRE scores are required for the research track and not required for the non-research track.
TOEFL Scores - An official score report from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
is required of any applicant who does not hold US citizenship or permanent residency. This test must have been taken within the last two years, and scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ww.toefl.org). This requirement may be waived, at the University's discretion, for applicants who have been full time students in a United States college or university for two consecutive years or who are from countries in which English is the primary language.

• Professional organizations, community activities, honors, and leadership responsibilities
• Research experience, publications, or presentations; include a brief description of any ongoing research in which you are involved.
Please discuss your academic objectives and provide any additional information you feel is relevant to your application. You should use this section as an opportunity to express why your background, clinical and research objectives make you a strong candidate for our psychology program. Indicate the specific area of research interest and a faculty member (or members) with whom you desire to work. Describe how you could contribute to ongoing research efforts in the department and, if applicable, how you would benefit from the mentorship of the faculty member(s) indicated above.
